Outdoor pickleballs are often made from a harder plastic than their indoor counterparts, thus they are more rugged for harder, outdoor courts. The holes are smaller on an outdoor ball, and thus they have fewer more than an indoor ball. They bounce higher than indoor balls, and are faster too. They are designed with the harder surfaces in mind, however, they can wear out faster due to the rougher wear and tear they endure compared to indoor balls.
